The ever-increasing percentage of the population belonging to the third age with time to spare, the ever-growing interest in user training by libraries and the public service role of the public library have prompted the authors of this article to design a user training programme aimed at the third age. This programme has been designed to be implemented with different categories of the third age and is complemented by library and cultural outreach activities.
