- Two of the characteristics denoting the nature of the so called Information Society are analyzed. On the one hand, the change of status of "knowledge", which has become and informational commodity, a source of profit and a means for decision-making and controlling, and on the other, the radical transformation of the home environment, marked by the telepresence of public interests and characterized by the use of technologies of remote social interaction.
