- The paper presents the idea of the project called "The analysis of running the Polish research libraries", conducted by the Standardization Group for Polish Research Libraries (ZSBN) since 2002, with particular taking the computer software into consideration, as designed for quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis. Modification of the questionnaire for the year 2004 and the activities conducted last year are also described. The final part discusses the results of the comparative studies on research libraries in the years 2002 - 2003.
