- Descripción
- New forms of coordination are supported by information and communication technologies where face to face working situations are becoming less and less frequent, where the question of "locality" becomes essential for those engaged in the concret activity of information sharing. Two distinct information systems are developping simultaneously in enterprises : an individual information system and a collective information system. The study shows that while these two systems may be complementary, they reveal the shortcomings of the internal communication strategy of the enterprises : sharing information is sometimes difficult, even non existant. How to escape from the localised aspect of information ? how to go from personal-level information to enterprise-level information ? When global information integration processes are set up, how do they affect individual, local practices ? These questions are explored through a survey of ten enterprises and an in-depth study of document transformation and underline the complexities of information sharing.
