- Disaster planning covers all actions which aim to keep the negative effects of disasters in minimum and to protect whole resources of the society against disasters. A vital records program and a disaster plan, the two basic elements of records management, are important tools which can be used at information centers during disaster planning process. In this paper, after examining characteristics of these tools and their benefits for information centers, a general evaluation of disaster planning in information centers in Turkey is provided and suggestions are offered.
