Descripción

• Metadata (or data about data) are ever more important to guarantee an efficient information retrieval and the interoperability among different databases, both at a national and at an international level. Since metadata schema may vary from an institute to another, a necessary operation is the mapping, both a technical and a semantic one. The article offers an overview on projects and initiatives that deal with this issues.
