- In this paper, which tries to be introductory and basic, a tour is done through the whole process of evaluation: data capture and its processing, how to prepare the situation to carry out an evaluation, which indicators and which problems can appear when measuring them. Also reasons and aspects for evaluating libraries are discussed. Finally keys to interpret the results obtained are given, as well as methods on how to draw conclusions and to elaborate performance models.
