Sweet net = Sweet net

Descripción
  • SwetsNet was presented for the first time to the Greek Academic Libraries in the 5th Panhellenic Conference of the Greek Academic Libraries in Thessaloniki in 1996. Two years later the number of electronic journals, the demands of the librarians and the drastically changed environment of the digital library present to us new challenges and tar-gets. This presentation will try to present what is the experience of the seven Greek Academic Libraries which currently are using SwetsNet. Questions like: Does SwetsNet fullfil your expectations as a uniform interface for your electronic journals collection? Is the number and qual-ity of titles available satisfactory to your needs and the needs of your end users? What is the response of the helpdesk? Is the database frequently enough updated? These and some more questions about the extra servic-es provided by SwetsNet, like the e-mail alert, SDI, connection to OPAC etc, we will try to answer always keeping in mind the current develop-ments of the digital libraries and the demands of the librarians and the end users.
