- Most libraries develop their web site to get more visibility in the cyberspace. Actually, because of the new trends in technology, is possible to create a tool where the user is the main point. Blogs are “personal” and “open” spaces of communications where the dynamic connective is the core. The goal is to describe and analyze this tool through four items: evolution of the blogosphere in the last years; concept and characteristics; the reasons for development, dissemination and evaluation.
Quantitative data are presented to show the blogosphere growth. On the basis of literature review, blogs main points and the reasons for development are enumerated and described. Finally, some aspects related to development, dissemination and analysis of its influence are outlined.
