Los índices H, G y R: su uso para identificar autores líderes en el área de la Comunicación durante el período 2001-2006

  • The current paper studied the applying of H, G and R indices, based on citation analysis, for the identification and characterization of leader authors in a scientific discipline. As experimental research field, the Communication area was selected. All the world scientific production on the subject, published in mainstream journals during the period 2001-2006, was retrieved. The 60 most productive authors were identified, and the H, G and R indices were calculated for each of them. The statistical distributions of the indicators, as well as the use of these indicators in research assessment processes were analyzed.
