- Several aspects related with reference service planning and management are focused. First comes the definition of the concept of reference service. Then, a further analysis of material resources and of the work tools required for the implementation of a reference
service, follows these theoretical aspects . The profile of a reference librarian, as well as all the inherent steps to the reference process are depicted and analysed, along with the evaluation of these same services. Finally, there’s a brief setting of digital reference services, and a selection of reference services that operate through the Internet are presented.
