- Interactive technologies and collaborative phenomena of Web 2.0 offer new opportunities for enhancing higher education. On the one hand E-Learning 2.0 enables changes in formal educational scenarios, for example the incorporation of blog and wikis in single lectures. On the other, hand social technologies and social phenomena of Web 2.0 offers possibilities to build up new information and communication infrastructures to connect all university members. The paper argues that such a rather knowledge management based focus on E-Learning 2.0 in that web 2.0 technologies and social phenomena could and should be seen as a chance to open new communication channels that reach beyond formal course scenarios. These are often not supported by the currently rather restricted or closed learn management systems.
