- Evidence based medicine is a natural response to the need of creating a model of medical care able to intgrate daily clinical practice, in a critical, concious and rational way, to the consisting advances that are taking place in clinical research and the overwhelming volume of existing information. A group of basic theoric and practical elements are exposed in the area of evidence based medicine. The insertion of Evidence Based Medicine in Cuba and its current state are also exposed as well as the perspectives in Natural and Traditional Medicine facing the development of a medicine with solid scientific basis.
