- Les biblioteques univeritàries es troben amb la necessitat de satisfer una demanda d'informació cada vegada més alta en una gran varietat de formats sense un increment dels recursos que afecta a tota la universitat. El desequilibri creixent entre el nombre d'estudiants i docents portarà cap un aprenentatge autodirigit que serà possible gràcies al desenvolupament de software educatiu, i que requerirà l'accés tant als materials impresos com a les fonts d'informació electròniques. La biblioteca ha d'actuar en la planificació i coordinació de l'aprenentatge i els recursos informatius, i és necessari que existeixi una major integració en els plans i activitats de les universitats. | The university libraries find themselves
confronted with the need to satisfy an everincreasing demand for information in a wide
variety of formats without an increase in the
resources that reach the entire university. The
growing imbalance between the number of students
and faculty creates the need for selfregulated
learning that will be possible thanks to
the development of educational software. This
will require access to printed materials as well as sources of electronic information. To meet these needs, the libraries must be involved in the planning and coordination of the educational program and the information resources. In addition, the plans and activities of all the universities must be further integrated.
